How Samsung messed up trying to extinguish the S4 burning issue

How Samsung attempt to silence a Samsung Galaxy S4 owner who posted a video on YouTube showing how his S4 caught fire while charging and the result is the charging port got burnt and rendering the phone not usable anymore.

Here is the video posted by ghostlyrich showing the damaged and burnt Samsung S4 which has 735,154 views at the time of writing,

One would expect Samsung to simply get the phone replaced as soon as possible, but on the contrary they sent the user a document saying that they will exchange his defective device S4 only after he pulls his initial video from YouTube and agree to various other conditions that they have set in the set of documents. Check out ghostlyrich video about it for more details. The video has 1,000,971 views at the time of writing.

The attempt to clear the bad publicity ended up creating even worse publicity for Samsung. So big companies should realized that they can't simply cover up in this age of widespread use of internet enabled portable devices. In fact they could have shown themselves in good light by replacing the devices with a brand new one and other goodies to go along with it to make up for all the trouble :p
